Feedback4m™ is a peer advisory mastermind group designed exclusively to illuminate the path for inventors!

THE HISTORY OF MASTERMIND

A mastermind group is a peer-to-peer mentoring group used to help members solve their problems with input and advice from the other group members. The concept was coined in 1925 by author Napoleon Hill in his book The Law of Success, and described in more detail in his 1937 book Think and Grow Rich.

Many famous and successful people have been part of a mastermind group.

  • In 1727, Ben Franklin formed a mastermind with twelve tradesmen, named The Junto.
  • From 1915-1924 The Vagabonds was a mastermind that included Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, John Burroughs and Harvey Firestone.
  • In the 1930’s, The Inkling was a mastermind group that included writers C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.
  • In the 1950’s, Warren Buffet started the Graham group with other business leaders.

Carnegie, the steel-tycoon knew nothing about the steel industry. He built his empire by tapping into the knowledge of others:

“We have here in this business a mastermind. It is not my mind, and it is not the mind of any other man on my staff, but the sum total of all these minds that I have gathered around me that constitute a mastermind in the steel business.”

The Difference & Benefits with Feedback4m™

Much like the benefits of a Mastermind group, Feedback4m™ helps advance the personal and professional development of Innovators with the support of a peer advisory group, an experienced Innovation Master Coach (Lisa Lloyd), and exclusive networking and resources specifically for innovation. Our unique methodology is a formula that combines the powerful mastermind model with additional support that is specifically relevant for inventing successfully.

Joining a Feedback4m™ is a serious commitment. Membership is by invitation only to insure the right combination of diversity and collaboration among members. Those selected will be asked to commit to attend and participate in 2 virtual meetings per month as both givers and receivers of ideas and advice, and to maintain our code of ethics and confidentiality. It is a safe place to share what you know, and to learn what you don’t know, to bring your bright ideas to market!

Here’s how you benefit:

When you’re not sure what to do, when you’re looking for answers, you share it with the group. The group’s collective abilities, insights, and out-of-the-box thinking often produces results greater than you can achieve on your own.

  • Need help vetting your new idea? Use your team as a focus group.
  • Not sure if you want to build a business or license? Process your options with insights from your group.
  • Not sure how to build your prototype?  They can help shorten the learning curve, so you see quicker results.

Members of Feedback4m™ have diverse talents and interests. They bring fresh perspectives and experiences. And they help you see the blind spots and flaws in your plans so you can make better decisions.

EXAMPLE:  You’re looking for help with evaluating a new idea for the WOW factor, the group can examine its feasibility, the pros and cons, and offer their experiences.

With the team you gain deeper insights into your own issues and biases. You stretch beyond your current thinking which results in additional possibilities and faster progress for you and your invention.

When your peers help you solve problems, they identify obstacles and ask questions. It focuses your thinking so you gain clarity and come to a resolution. This could be personal or professional.

EXAMPLE: You have an idea for a new product and it will work in theory but you need to build something to be sure. You have no idea how to make a model or prototype for this idea. Your team shares how they have made scaled and slightly working models just to test the theory for practically no money and you can see how you could do the same.

Your fellow members expect you to accomplish the tasks and goals you set for yourself so you take them seriously. You set realistic goals and are inspired by your group to hit them. You stay focused and determined; and you get things done.

You can’t become a great success all alone. Every successful person has a team to support and encourage them. As part of a mastermind group, you are no longer isolated and searching for direction. You know you have somewhere to turn where you feel connected and can get honest and helpful feedback.

EXAMPLE: During the “Check-in” part of our agenda you mention that your significant other doesn’t “get it” and it is causing issues in your relationship. A member shares how he had a similar issue and found resolution by inviting his wife to join him in developing the idea as a counterbalance to make sure there were no risks taken that threatened her. You are surrounded with people who understand how difficult it is on you and even checkin on you following the meeting to let you know they care.

Group members are delighted to share with one another when they learn about a new service or find a special rate that can be passed on to one another. Since everyone is aware of each other’s innovation and status, each member is actively looking for opportunities for one another. It’s a team actively looking for ways to help and rooting for each other’s success!
